Chopper Twirls Wildly into Palm Fronds at Well-Known California Beach
A helicopter soaring over a crowded southern California shoreline unexpectedly began spiraling wildly, finally descending rapidly and smashing into a cluster of palm groves as spectators looked on.
Footage shared on social media capture the chopper starting to spin over the shoreline then plunging near the perimeter of the shore, where it becomes wedged amidst palms and a staircase near the shoreline route.
Emergency Response Information
Emergency responders reported five individuals were taken to hospital including two individuals who were in the helicopter and were “extracted safely from the crash site” after the accident on Saturday.
Three persons on the street were hurt. Specifics on their wounds were still under review.
The cause of the crash was not immediately released.
