Skydance Paramount Will Remove Approximately 2,000 American Positions – Update

Paramount Skydance will start mass layoffs the week of 27 October, removing about 2,000 US jobs as part of a cost-cutting plan worth $2bn overseen by top executive David Ellison.

These job cuts come after the merger of Skydance Media and Paramount Global, which closed during August with a value of $8.4bn.

Additional international job cuts are expected, as the firm intending to disclose complete information during its Q3 financial results on 10 November.

Prior news stated the company planned to cut between 2,000 and 3,000 roles by the beginning of next month.

By December 2024, the company retained nearly 18,600 permanent and temporary staff along with 3,500 contract workers.

The organization has not provided a response to a request for comment.
